Christian

As a Christian, a person is referred to, (also known as Jesus Christ) which is Jesus of Nazareth and is committed to the teachings of which are preserved in the New Testament of the Bible, and is baptized. Christians may belong to different denominations of Christianity. The term Christian name to describe people who formally belong to a Christian community of faith, without feeling bound to their teachings or attend their meetings.

Importance

The name "Christ" ( ancient Greek Χριστιανός Christianos, The Christian ') for a follower of Jesus Christ to have been first used in Antioch in Syria to 42, wherein the word was first used by outsiders ( Acts 11:26 GNB), derogatory was meant, and later adopted as a self-designation of the group; so far the name is a Geusenwort. Even in Paul's letters is "holy " is used as a salutation.

In earlier German texts with "Christian" often (Jesus) Christ meant, for example, happy in the Christmas carol O you. It says in the first stanza: " the world was lost, Christ is born."

Christian of Faith

The Christian believes in the teaching of the Bible to the divine sonship of Jesus Christ, the forgiveness of sins through his death on the cross and his resurrection personally for every repentant people and the resurrection of the dead.

Away from denominational differences, there are attempts to highlight the essence of being a Christian and to prove about the Anglican area: CS Lewis described mere Christianity (1952 ), namely Christianity, as it is represented jointly by the various denominations, and Nicholas Thomas Wright explained Simply Christian ( 2006).
