Christiane Sophie Charlotte of Brandenburg-Bayreuth

Christiane Sophie Charlotte of Brandenburg- Kulmbach (* October 15, 1733 in Dietersheim; † October 8, 1757 at his hunting lodge Seidingstadt ) came from the Kulmbach - Bayreuth branch of the younger line ( Wefer Linger line) of the Franconian Hohenzollern and was by marriage Duchess of Saxony -Hildburghausen.

Life

Christiane Sophie Charlotte was the only surviving child of Margrave Friedrich Christian of Brandenburg- Kulmbach ( since 1763 Margrave of Bayreuth) from his marriage to Victoria Charlotte, daughter of Prince Victor Amadeus I. Adolf von Anhalt- Bernburg - Schaumburg- Hoym

The princess was on her aunt, the Danish Queen Sophie Magdalene Court, brought together with their daughter Louise in Copenhagen. Through the mediation of the Queen Christiane married their ex- son- Ernst Friedrich III. Carl von Sachsen- Hildburghausen on 20 January 1757 Christiansborg Palace.

Described very pious, she got her predecessor in rigid court etiquette and waste in every way. In addition to lavish celebrations, the Duchess had a special fondness for hunting. The Antlers at the entrance portal of the former hunting lodge Seidingstadt come from two deer that they killed on a hunt in 1757. She died in childbed four days after the birth of Princess Friederike Karoline Sophie Marie. Her daughter survived the Duchess to nine days.
