Christina Rost

Christina Rost ( born August 14, 1952 in Chemnitz; born: Christina Mäbert ) is a German handball player.

Her achievements in the selection of the GDR team were winning the world championships in 1975 and 1978, the Olympic silver medal in 1976 in Montreal and four years later the bronze medal in Moscow. For their sporting successes it was 1976 and 1979 awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in bronze and 1984 silver.

Christina Rost played for SC Leipzig. For the selection of the GDR, they scored a total of 161 goals in 170 international appearances. She is married to handball Olympic medalist Peter Rost. Their son Frank was football goalkeeper and now works as a sports official.
