Christina Schwanitz ( born December 24, 1985 in Dresden ) is a German shot putter. It was 2013 European Indoor Champion and Vice World Champion. She is sporting a soldier of the Bundeswehr sports promotion group in the Saxon town of Frankenberg.

Career

In 2004, she won the bronze medal at the Junior World Championships. In 2005, she finished third at the German Championships. In the U23 European Championships in 2005 she won silver behind Petra Lammert. Thus, she qualified for the world championships in Helsinki, where she finished ninth. Your personal best was 18.84 meters at the end of 2005.

2006 and 2007 Christina Schwanitz was unable to repeat their performance of 2005 due to injury. Christina Schwanitz launched from 2002 to 2009 for the then Sports Association Neckarsulm, Neckarsulm today Sportunion NSU. During this time she was four times awarded the honorary title of Sportswoman of the Year of the City Neckarsulm. In November 2009 she joined the club Ore LV 90 Thum. There she is coached by Sven Lang.
