Christina the Astonishing

Christina the Great ( Christina of Austria, Belgium, Latin: Christina Mirabilis, * 1150 in Brustem; † around 1224 in Sint- Truiden in present-day Belgium ) was a mystic, venerated as a saint of sinners.

We know from the testimony of contemporary encyclopedist Thomas Cantimpré and the Cardinal Jacques de Vitry, who knew them personally about the life of Christina. Christina should have worked some miracles, including several levitation. Furthermore, it will be noticed by strange behavior. So they should have claimed to be able to smell the stink of human sin. This was so unbearable for her that she tried to flee the stench in remote corners. Among other things, it should be climbed on trees and houses and have been hiding in ovens and cupboards.

Your holiday is celebrated as that of Christina of Bolsena on 24 July.

Reception

In the present, Christina became known to a wider audience through the song ' Christina The Astonishing ' by Nick Cave.
