Christine Boyer

Christine Boyer ( born July 3, 1773 in Saint -Maximin- la -Sainte -Baume, † May 4, 1800 in Paris) was the first wife of Lucien Bonaparte, Napoleon's youngest brother.

Life

Christine Boyer was the daughter and heiress of a wealthy wine merchant from Saint -Maximin- la -Sainte -Baume. On May 4, 1794 married the deputies and later president of the Council of Five Hundred Lucien Bonaparte ( 1775-1840; aka Brutus Marathon ), the third son of the Corsican lawyer Carlo Buonaparte and Laetitia Ramolino, known as Madame Mère. The wedding took place on the part of Lucy, not least due to the high dowry of Mademoiselle Christine Boyer.

From their marriage, four children, of whom only two daughters survived to adulthood.

In Marseille Madame Christine Bonaparte maintained a friendly relationship with Désirée Clary, later the wife of Jean -Baptiste Bernadotte, the former fiancé of her brother Napoleon Bonaparte, later Emperor of the French. But they distrusted years her two sisters in law, Joséphine de Beauharnais, and Caroline Bonaparte, with whom they shared a bitter rivalry. Madame Bonaparte died on May 4, May 1800 of a lung infection during her fifth pregnancy.
