Christine Lahti

Christine Lahti ( born April 4, 1950 in Birmingham, Michigan ) is an American actress and film director of Finnish descent.

Career

Before Lahti has established itself as an actress, she earned her living in New York as a waitress and as a mime in Central Park, but has now for many years a busy television actress, appearing regularly in particular produced for the U.S. television films and series, as well as sporadically in film productions. In Germany it was mainly for her role as single parent, feminist heart surgeon Dr. Kate Austin in the medical drama Chicago Hope - known terminus hope they embodied 1995-1999. Christine Lahti has already won all the major film and television awards in the United States. In 1996, she received together with Jana Sue Memel an Oscar for the short film Lieberman in Love, in which she acts as director and actress.
