Christine Spielberg

Christine Spielberg ( born December 21, 1941 in Niederlungwitz ) is a former German track and field athlete. The starting for the SC Karl- Marx-Stadt discus introduced in 1968 with 61,64 m a new world record in the discus throw on - the first world record of a DDR - thrower.

In 1966 she won the European Championships in Budapest with 57.76 m before Liesel Westermann the gold medal in the discus throw. At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City Spielberg was 52.86 m Seventh. In 1971, she occupied at the European Championships in Helsinki with 56,20 m eighth.

Christine Spielberg reached from 1960 to 1972 except one (1965 ) is always the final of the Championship of the GDR in the discus throw. It was never champion of the GDR, their best rankings were the runner-up in the years 1968, 1971 and 1972.
