Christinenthal

Christinenthal is a municipality in the district of Steinburg, in Schleswig- Holstein.

Geography and transport

Christinenthal is located on the main road 430 between Schenefeld and Hohenwestedt. The Bekau and Lammsbek flow through the community.

History

Until 1745 the church Weddeldorp or village Wedel said. It was in honor of Countess Christina Sophie of Brunswick- Bevern that here had their summer residence of Solitude, renamed. Her husband was the Margrave Friedrich Ernst of Brandenburg- Culmbach, who resided in neighboring Drage in Friedrichsruh castle. From the small summer palace no longer remains are preserved, his place is now occupied by the Good Christinenthal. In the garden of the estate, however, the rudiments of what was once adorned with avenues, flower beds and a maze parks have received.

Policy

The municipality has a municipal assembly instead of a local council, this includes all residents of the community to. In accordance with § 54 of the Schleswig -Holstein municipal code for all agglomerations with less than 70 inhabitants.
