Back to album

The album contains 14 cover versions of well-known carols, only Cold December Night is an original composition. After the successful first published in October 2011, as supplemented by three additional tracks album was launched in November 2012 as a new edition once again on the market. Besides Bublé can be heard as a guest musician on the album The Puppini Sisters ( Jingle Bells, Frosty the Snowman ), Shania Twain ( White Christmas ), Thalía ( Mis Deseos, Feliz Navidad ) and Naturally 7 ( Silver Bells ). The lyrics of the song Santa Baby has been slightly modified for the album, since the original text to a woman as an interpreter aims. So Buble " Santa Buddy " instead of " Santa Baby " sings in the chorus. The verses were adjusted accordingly. The Ave Maria in Latin Bublé sings to the tune of Franz Schubert's Ellens third song (D 839, Op 52 No. 6, from the song cycle Lady of the Lake ), also known as " Schubert's Ave Maria ".

Reviews

Kai Butterweck heard the album for laut.de and ruled: "Even if the usual suspects in the typical garb Bublé certainly here and there ( " Jingle Bells ", " White Christmas " ) corners of the mouth pull, should " Christmas "as a whole probably only diehard followers of the singer for enthusiasm worry. Matt Collar of Allmusic gave the album 3 ½ ( out of five) stars, it referred to as " old-school affair" in which Bublé in a " Bing Crosby -meets- Dean Martin " vocal style Outsmart. Ultimately, Christmas is " a warm and inviting album. "
