Christof Innerhofer

Christof Innerhofer ( born December 17, 1984 in Bruneck ) is an Italian alpine skier. The South Tyrol is mainly in the disciplines of downhill and Super -G at the start. The biggest success of his career is the Super - G World Champion title in 2011.

Biography

Inner Hofer learned the age of three in Gais skiing. After school at his birthplace, he attended as a youth sports high school in times. He then joined the Police Sports Group. In November 1999, he played the first FIS races, bets in the European Cup was followed four years later. In 2006 he moved from the police to the sports group of the Guardia di Finanza.

Due to good performance in the European Cup during the 2005/06 season (including two wins), Inner Hofer took from November 2006 to World Cup races in part. World Cup points he won for the first time on 10 December of the same year as 24 of the super-combined at the Reiteralm. At the 2007 World Championships in Åre, he was 38th in the downhill and eighth in the team competition. On 29 December 2007 he scored a ninth of the Bormio downhill the first place in the top ten.

On December 28, 2008 Inner Hofer won his first World Cup race, the downhill on the Pista Stelvio in Bormio. Previously was a fourth-place finish was his best result he had achieved little more than three weeks earlier in the Super- G in Beaver Creek. In February and March 2009, he scored two third places in the super combination of Sestriere, in the super -G of Åre and completed his most successful season in 2008/ 09 from fifth in the super -G World Cup, Tenth departure rating and eleventh in the World Cup. At the 2009 World Championships in Val d'Isere he missed fourth in the Super- G a medal by only five hundredths of a second. In addition, he finished tenth in the downhill and 15th in the combination.

In November 2009, Inner Hofer won the silver medal at the inaugural of the European Ski Federation European Indoor Championships in Amneville. He achieved two top 10 results at the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010 with sixth place in the Super G and eighth place in the Super Combined. In the World Cup, however, he could 2009/10 hardly connect to the previous year's results and only went twice into the top ten. The 2010/11 season brought a significant increase in this respect, he was third in the downhill in Bormio. At the World Championships 2011 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, he won by a large time advantage the gold medal in the Super- G and added a silver medal in the super combined and the bronze medal in the downhill.

Early November 2011 crashed Innerhofer hard workout in the Stubai Valley, and withdrew it a concussion and a slight knee injury. As a result, he had first effort to reach the performance level of the previous winter. In mid-January 2012, he was third in the Lauberhorn downhill in Wengen. The confirmation of the World Championship title he succeeded in Schladming mid-March, when he won a World Cup super-G for the first time.

In the 2012/13 season Innerhofer get to the slopes of Beaver Creek, Wengen and Garmisch- Partenkirchen three World Cup victories, more than any other rider of the year. In the downhill standings he finished 4th. In the World Cup season 2013/14 to Innerhofer binned five times in the top ten, but a podium finish he did not succeed. At the 2014 Winter Olympics he won the silver medal in the downhill and a bronze medal in the super combined.
