Christoph Badelt

Christoph Badelt ( born February 26, 1951 in Vienna) is an Austrian economist and since March 2002 Rector of the University of Vienna.

Training

Badelt graduated in 1969 at the grammar school and studied 18 Vienna 1970-1974 Economics at the former World Trade University, he in July 1974 with the graduation ceremony for the BA Degree. completed. In July 1976, he also received his PhD Doctor of Social Sciences and Economics.

Academic career

After of Economics at the University of Economics, he worked for eight years as an assistant at the Institute, he moved in 1981 to the University of Wisconsin, where he worked as a visiting professor until 1985. From 1991 to 1995 he was a member of the rectorate of the University of Economics in Vienna and from 1993 to 1996 scientific director of the Interdisciplinary University course for social business, management and organization of social services at the country's Scientific Academy of Lower Austria in Krems. 1995 Badelt taught social sciences at the University of the Bundeswehr Munich and at the University of Cologne. From 1989 to 1997 he taught Economic and Social Sciences at the University of Economics, and was until his appointment as rector there in several leading positions.

Others

Badelt has three children with his wife Irmgard.
