Christoph Friedrich Otto

Christoph Friedrich Otto ( born December 4, 1783 in Schneeberg, † December 7, 1856 in Berlin) was a German botanist and gardener. Its official botanical author abbreviation is " Otto".

From 1805 to 1843, Otto was Inspector of the Botanical Garden Berlin. Together with Albert Gottfried Dietrich 1833 to 1856 he was editor of the newspaper the Public Garden. The plant genus Ottoa H.B.K. has been named after him.
