Christoph Krehl
Christoph Ludolf Ehrenfried Krehl (* June 29, 1825 in Meissen, † May 15 1901 in Leipzig ) was a German orientalist.
Life
Ludolf Krehl was the son of the professor of Theology and University Preacher August Krehl (1784-1855) was born. He studied at the universities of Leipzig ( with Heinrich Leberecht Fleischer ), Tübingen oriental ( with Heinrich Ewald ) and Paris Languages and continued his studies in Saint Petersburg continue.
In 1852 he got a job as a secretary at the Royal Library in Dresden, came in 1861 as associate professor of oriental languages and university librarian to Leipzig, where it was in 1869 ordinary honorary professor and head librarian. January 2, 1874, he was finally scheduled a full professor in his field and was his faculty 1876/77 as dean before. Due to an eye condition, he was transferred to September 1, 1899 final in retirement.
