Christoph Matznetter

Christoph Matznetter ( born June 8, 1959 in Vienna) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ). He was on 11 January 2007 until December 2, 2008 State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance. After that, he was from 2008 to 2013 Member of the National again. Since March 2014 Matznetter is back Member of Parliament.

Training

After attending elementary school at the Lycée Français in Vienna 1965-1969 and Gymnasium ( AHS Amerlingstraße in Vienna 1970-1978 ) studied Christoph Matznetter 1978-1982 Political Science at the University of Vienna. After nearly 20 years of professional career, he took up the study in 2001 to again and his PhD in 2002 for Doctor of Philosophy. His specialized vocational training is that of a chartered accountant ( accountants and sworn auditors, sworn auditors now ).

Professional career

While still a student, Christoph Matznetter operated as a tax consultant profession contender (1980-1985) and completed this training with state certification as a tax consultant from. Since 1985 he has acted as an independent tax consultant and then as a sworn auditor (now sworn auditor and tax consultant). From 1985 to 2004 he was Managing Partner of Mercury Trust Economy Trust and Steuerberatungsges.mbH

Political career

His political career began Christoph Matznetter in the late 1970s as AHS provincial education spokesman for Vienna and member of the Austrian Federal Student Advisory Board. He later became Federal Coordinator of SSZ- Socialist Student Center (later Critical Action students ) and student speaker at the sjö - Socialist Youth of Austria.

In 2000 he became a member of the Federal Executive of the SPÖ. He was as SPÖ federal party treasurer member of the federal party Presidium 2001. From December 2002 to January 2007 he was a Member of Parliament and Deputy Chairman of the Budget Committee. During this time he held the function of the budget and finance spokesman for the Social Democrats.

Since June 2005 he is the successor of Rene Alfons Haiden President of the Social Democratic trade association. From June 2005 until his appointment as Secretary of State, he held the position of Vice President of the Economic Chamber Austria.

On 11 January 2007 he was appointed State Secretary in the Finance Ministry. He held while the federal government Gusenbauer to the swearing-in ceremony of the new federal government Faymann I on 2 December 2008 this office. Finally Matznetter was 2008-2013 again Member of Parliament. After the national election in 2013 he lost his seat and resigned from the parliament from. When Laura Rudas abandoned in March 2014 on her National Council mandate, Matznetter returned to the National Council.

Since 1 January 2009 Christoph Matznetter clothed again the position of Vice President of the Economic Chamber Austria.

Christoph Matznetter until 2004, was also on the board of the Association Austrian North-South Institute for Development Cooperation ( ÖNSI ).
