Christoph Sieber

Christopher Sieber (born 9 January 1971 in Wels ) is an Austrian windsurfer.

Life

Christoph Sieber was a student of the Linz Music School and the Bruckner Conservatory (cello). The Windsurfing sake he gave up classical music and moved into the school sports model Salzburg, a school for elite athletes.

In 1992 he won at the Kieler Woche and qualified for the Olympic Games in Barcelona where he missed a medal until the last race and finished fifth.

As a third in the European Championships in 1994 his participation in the Games in Atlanta in 1996 (sailing and surfing in Savannah ) was denied because of scarce non-fulfillment of qualification criteria of the Austrian Olympic Committee.

After an intensified mental training, frequent training camps in Sydney and reinforced conditioning training at the Olympic base Obertauern he won the gold medal for participation in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.

After Sydney, he devoted himself to the kite surfing and travel. In 2002, he officially declared his retirement from windsurfing. 2004 Sieber began together with Vorschoter Clemens Kruse in the Olympic boat class 49er dinghy sailing ( Austrian Champion 2005). He was the first windsurfer who dared the change to this class of boat.

Since mid- 2008, the father of a son motivation lectures and seminars on mental training, performance optimization and burn-out prevention holds.
