Christoph Spycher

Christoph Spycher (born 30 March 1978 in Wolhusen ) is a Swiss football player. He is a left defender, but can also be used on the left outer rail in midfield. He grew up in the community Köniz in Oberscherli. He has the Matura.

Career

Association

In his youth he played for FC Sternberg, SC Bümpliz 78 and FC Münsingen. His career as a professional footballer, he began in 1999 at FC Luzern, where he remained until 2001. Then he moved to Grasshopper Club Zurich, with whom he was Swiss champion in 2003. In total he played 137 games in the Super League, 61 for Lucerne and 76 ( five goals ) for the Grasshopper Club Zurich. For the season 2005/ 06 he moved to the German first division club Eintracht Frankfurt, where he was a regular player. On 24 April 2008 Spycher extended his contract with Eintracht Frankfurt for two years until 30 June 2010.

In April 2010, the BSC Young Boys signed a three-year contract with Spycher.

National

Spycher played since 2002 for the Swiss national football team, and took her part in the 2004 European Championships in Portugal, where he was used in all games. He was by all Swiss players at this tournament the best grades of critics and even said: "I can be satisfied with my performance at the European Championships. Nevertheless, it would have been nicer if we had cut off a successful ". The Switzerland retired after two defeats against England and France and a draw against Croatia in the first round as a group from Last.
