Christophe Dugarry ( born March 24, 1972 in Lormont ) is a former French footballer.

In his career he was active in the professional leagues of France, Spain, Italy and England. He was also a French international and has been with the selection of world and European champions.

Club career

Dugarrys professional career began in the French first division club Girondins Bordeaux, where he managed the club from the second division led, inter alia, along with his later team-mate Zinedine Zidane and Bixente Lizarazu up in the final of the UEFA Cup. In the finals, however, Bordeaux was defeated by Bayern Munich with 1:2 and 1:3.

In the following season Dugarry not changed as Zidane to Italy, but as his good friend to Juventus, but the Lombard club AC Milan. But a year later he left the club, this time for Spain's top club FC Barcelona. There it held Dugarry however, only a few months and he returned to his homeland.

Back in France, he first played for Olympique Marseille and later for Girondins Bordeaux. After a match against Olympique Lyon on 30 April 1999, he tested positive for the anabolic steroid nandrolone, but acquitted on a technicality. With Marseille, he reached again in 1999 the UEFA Cup final against AC Parma, but also this time he was off the pitch as a second winner. He then hired at the former French champions Bordeaux, with whom he nevertheless still able to win the French League Cup 2002.

In early 2003 it tried Dugarry again abroad. This time the English first division club Birmingham City. But even here, his commitment was relatively short, and after a year he moved to Qatar to the club Qatar Sports Club. He was there not a game and finished his career in 2005.

National team career

Has Dugarry boast at club level few successes, he has won a national player all trophies that can be won. He participated in two World Cups and European Championships once each, and could win the title. He also won the French national team 2001 Confederations Cup. Overall, he wore the jersey 55 times the " Équipe Tricolore " and was able to achieve eight goals.
