Christophe Dupouey

Christophe Dupouey ( born August 8, 1968 in Tarbes, France, † February 4, 2009 ) was a French cyclist.

Dupouey began his career at the World Championships in 1989 in Cyclocross, where he finished in second place. In 1995, he first participated in the European Championship in Cross Country, where he reached the second place. In the years 1996 and 1998 he won the European championship. At the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta was the first time Olympic Cross Country; Dupouey fourth. In 1998 he became world champion in cross country.

In 2006, he was sentenced to probation for his involvement in a doping affair to a prison term of three months. The current as depressed Dupouey who last ran a bike rental in France, died in February 2009 by suicide.
