Christopher Bailey (fashion designer)

Christopher Bailey (born 1971 in Yorkshire, England) is since 2001 the creative director of the British label Burberry. He is responsible for the design and visual marketing of all Burberry collections, including Burberry Prorsum, Burberry London, Burberry Brit and Burberry licensed products worldwide.

Life

Bailey studied until 1990 at the University of Westminster in London. In 1994 he graduated from the Royal College of Art with a masters and then designed women's fashion for Donna Karan in New York. Poached by Tom Ford, Bailey worked from 1996 to 2001 as a senior designer for Gucci in Milan.

In recognition of his achievements Bailey was awarded in 2003 by the Royal College of Art, an Honorary Fellowship.

Bailey lives with British actor Simon Woods.
