Christopher Daniels
Daniel Christopher Covell ( born December 24, 1971 in Fayetteville, North Carolina), known by his ring name " The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels is an American professional wrestler, who is currently in the wrestling promotion Total Nonstop Action Wrestling under contract.
Covell is married and has two children; a daughter and a son.
Career
Beginnings / World Wrestling Federation
Christopher Daniels made his debut in 1993 at Windy City Pro Wrestling ( WCPW ), a local wrestling promoters in Chicago, as a tag team partner of titanium in a match against the Manson Brothers. A month later he was allowed to claim his first title in which he was allowed to Trevor Blanchard defeat for the title of " WCPWLight - Heavyweight Champion ".
After some time, he met with his coach Kevin Quinn as a tag team. In 1995 they were allowed to win the " WCPW Tag Team Title " and a short time later in Puerto Rico, the " WWC World Tag Team Title ". 1997 Daniels came back to solo and won as part of the storyline by Bret Sanders the title of " WCPW - Middleweight champions". Shortly thereafter, he won almost the same time the "World Power Wrestling Heavyweight Title " and " EWF Heavyweight Title ".
1998 Daniels wrote a contract with the then World Wrestling Federation. He kicked a few times in the show " WWF Shotgun " and formed with Aaron Aguilera the tag team Los Conquistadores. After some minor feuds and an unsuccessful title match Daniels left the WWE back in 1999 and went back to the independent scene.
Independent / World Championship Wrestling
After he left the WWE in 1999 he went to Japan, where he took up as a masked wrestler Curry Man. A little later he won the title of "British Commonwealth Junior Heavyweight Champion".
Back in North America in February 2000, he won the " Super Eight Tournament" doctorate East Coast Wrestling Association. After a first short stay in the big promotion World Championship Wrestling ( WCW ) Daniels returned to Windy City Pro Wrestling. In addition, Daniels could win the title of the doctoral Ultimate Pro Wrestling (UPW ), and a "King of the Indies" called tournament of the best wrestlers from the independent leagues, which was organized by the promotion All Pro Wrestling ( APW).
In January 2001, Daniels played in the WCW show " Nitro" a match against Michael Modest. In the course of this match, in which the promotion would examine both opponents with a view to a longer contract, failed Daniels a springboard moonsault when he missed the top rope with one foot and due to hit the ring floor during the subsequent somersault with the back of the head. Despite thereby had moved neck injury Daniels was able to finish the match and received as his opponent a contract for 90 days offered. Daniels denied any further matches for the already financially troubled WCW until it was sold to the WWE.
Independent / Total Nonstop Action Wrestling
Daniels continued his career in smaller wrestling promotions. In 2001 he won with his partner Reign the tag team title of the Midwest territories of the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA ). As a single wrestler he could win the title of the ECWA, UPW and NWA Florida. In January 2002, Daniels was the first title match of the new promotion Ring of Honor, for which he frequently appeared until 2004. Since June 2002, Daniels is also available in the newly established promotion Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA ) under contract.
Daniels was allowed in October 2002 in Japan as Curry Man, along with Hayashi Rice the " Futaritabi Tag Team League Tournament" winning. In the same month, he also appeared in England and won the " heavyweight championship " the promotion Frontier Wrestling Alliance.
Daniels joined TNA shortly after its founding in 2002. In December 2002 he made with Low -Ki and Elix Skipper together, Stable Triple X. The Stable competed in the tag team division, and also won in the course of the storyline, the NWA World Tag Team Championships, took turns at the title defenses and entered the Sports Entertainment Xtreme faction of Vince Russo in. The Stable broke up in June 2003 after Low -Ki mainly took in Japan and the two other members on December 5, 2004 in the pay- per-view " TNA Turning Point" a decisive cage match against the tag team of "America's Most Wanted " lost.
In 2005, Daniels a long feud with AJ Styles for the TNA X - Division Championship belt. He won the title at the pay- per-view " TNA Destination X " 2005. Daniels became the longest- reigning X Division Champion in the history of TNA and held the title for over 150 days until he him at the PPV " TNA Unbreakable " in a Three Way Dance, which was also Samoa Joe took part, gave back to styles.
After various programs feud Daniels was able to win the X Division title short of Samoa Joe at " TNA Destination X ", but this had on 13 April 2006 but cede back to this.
On December 16, 2006 Daniels won his third TNA X - Division title in a Triple Threat Match against AJ Styles and Chris Sabin, this match has been sent in the first broadcast of TNA Impact on Spike TV. Daniels held the title until the PPV " Final Resolution " in 2006, where he had to lose him to Chris Sabin.
Daniels then took a break in TNA to as heel, various wrestlers from March 2007 attack with baseball bats and other objects to return in the show. In December it was storyline - moderate terminated and shortly thereafter he returned as a masked Curry back Man. Under this name he appeared for a year. The character "Curry Man" was designed more for humor and soon acted as his partner, Shark Boy, also a masked wrestler. In December 2008, this figure was written out of the storyline.
In early 2009 came as a masked wrestler Daniels on Suicide because Kaz that occurred up to that point as " Suicide", had suffered an injury. On March 15, he won in the figure of Suicide TNA X Division Championship.
In April 2009, Daniels returned as Christopher Daniels back to TNA officially back. This was followed by programs feud against Samoa Joe, AJ Styles and Sean Morley before he was released in spring 2010.
His return to TNA was on 31 January 2011, again as Suicide. On 16 March 2011 Daniels also returned Himself. He was half a year a member of the Fortune Stables.
At Sacrifice on May 13, 2012, he won with Kazarian TNA World Tag Team Championship from Magnus and Samoa Joe. On June 10, 2012 at Slammiversary X they lost the title to AJ Styles and Kurt Angle, however, won him at Impact Wrestling back on 28 June 2012. At Bound for Glory on October 14, 2012, she lost the tag team titles on Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez.
Ring of Honor
Christopher Daniels is known as one of the " founding fathers" of Ring of Honor ( ROH). He joined in the main event of the first show, "The Era of Honor Begins" in a Triple Threat Match against Brandon Silvestry and Bryan Danielson. Daniels had to lose the match and so Daniels joined ROH as a Heel, by refusing to adhere to the " Code of Ethics " of the Promotion. He said he wanted to destroy the Ring of Honor by the non-compliance with the Code. Daniels was the founder of the Stables " The Prophecy", in which he combined the heels of the promotion. Daniels appeared by 2004 in all the shows of ROH and was allowed to win the ROH Tag Team titles together with Donovan Morgan.
After a scandal that involved the owner of the ROH promotion, TNA Daniels said in 2004 further appearances. Only after sixteen months and a change of ownership of the ROH Daniels was allowed to compete there again. Between 25 November 2006 and February 14, 2007 Daniels, along with Matt Sydal held a second time the ROH Tag Team titles.
When PPV Big Bang 3 April 2010 Christopher Daniels returned surprisingly returned to Ring of Honor. On 10 December 2010 he was Eddie Edwards defeat the ROH Television Title, which he lost at the Hammerstein Ballroom on El Generico during IPPV The Best in the World on June 26, 2011. This was also his last appearance for ROH.
