Christy Turlington

Christy Nicole Turlington ( born January 2, 1969 in Walnut Creek, California) is an American model. She counted in the 1990s alongside Claudia Schiffer, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista to the five most successful supermodels.

Biography

Turlington is the daughter of an American father and a mother originating from El Salvador. In her childhood she was accustomed to ride. At thirteen, she discovered the photographer Dennie Cody on a riding competition in Miami and it was taken a year later by the modeling agency Ford Models under contract. Your first orders they got from the shopping chain Emporium Capwell in San Francisco. She finished the Monte Vista High School in Danville, California and continued her incipient modeling career. End of 1986, Turlington was photographed for the back of the LP sleeve of the album Notorious by Duran Duran. In 1993, she chose the People Magazine 's 50 Most Beautiful People (50 Most Beautiful People ). Since 1987 she has been in over 1,000 magazines, including Vogue, Allure and Elle to see on the cover.

In 1996, Turlington together with five other top models (Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Elle Macpherson and Claudia Schiffer ), the Fashion Café in New York City. In the same year came a documentary entitled Catwalk on the life of Turlington in the cinemas.

In May 1999, Turlington finished her studies in the fields of literature and philosophy. A year later she signed a contract with the sportswear company Puma for Yoga Nuala, the end of 2013 she was the face of an advertising campaign of the luxury hotel group, One & Only Resorts.

In 2002 he released Turlington's first book called Living Yoga. It supports the animal rights organization PETA with nude photos on posters and billboards. On June 7, 2003 Turlington married actor and director Edward Burns, with whom she has two children.
