The company was founded in 1989 by American Mike Meagher and the Japanese Yasuaki Uehara and belongs to Garwick Industries Ltd.. To their product portfolio also includes grinding stones, kitchen scissors and other kitchen accessories. Also known chroma spice Schneider ProCuTe (Professional Cutting Technology ), a usable in enterprise giving each spice pepper mill.

In addition to products sold under own brand products Chroma operates as a supplier of third-party companies also in the OEM sector. Cnife and Cnives are registered trademarks chroma.
