Chromium (II ) fluoride is an inorganic chemical compound of the chromium from the group of fluorides.
Production and representation
Chromium (II ) fluoride can ( (III ) fluoride, for example cadmium (II ) fluoride, tin (II ) fluoride or bismuth) are obtained by reaction of fluorine with chromium salts of noble metals, wherein the reaction of the above melting temperature of the salts is carried out.
Also possible is the production by the reaction of chromium with hydrogen fluoride at about 200 ° C or the reaction of chromium (III ) fluoride with hydrogen.
Properties
Chromium (II ) fluoride is a light green powder. It has a monoclinic crystal structure of the distorted rutile - type with the space group P21 / c. When heated in air, it decomposes to chromium ( III) oxide.
