Chrysippus (mythology)

Chrysippus (Greek Χρύσιππος ) In Greek mythology, the son of Pelops and Axioche and half-brother of Thyestes and Atreus twins.

In one version weighs on him the curse Myrtilus spoke also about his father and his family. Laius (father of Oedipus ), who fled from Thebes, taught him in the car steering and falls in love with the boy. However, Laius returned to Thebes, to ascend the throne. Chrysippus was eventually killed by his two half-brothers Atreus and Thyestes at the insistence of Hippodamia, who feared that he would not inherit their sons Thebes.

In another narration Chrysippus is the reason of the dispute between Laius and his son Oedipus, as both have fallen in love with the handsome youth. Even Zeus and Theseus are occasionally mentioned as hijackers of Chrysippus.
