Chrysler Airstream Deluxe Series CZ ( 1935)

The Chrysler Airstream was an automobile, the Chrysler produced in model years 1935 and 1936. The Airstream was a conventional-looking car that should give the impression of an aerodynamic design. A similar car with the same name was also sold by Chrysler DeSoto cheap brand at this time.

The necessity of Airstream arose from the lack of popularity of streamlined Airflow, the customer simply did not want to accept. The Airstream was based on Chrysler's CO - model of 1933, its production was continued in 1934 under the name CA / CB. When the airflow was simply not accepted by buyers, Chrysler revised the CA model, it sided with the rear wheel covers and so presented a vehicle from which they hoped that it would please the buyers at the time of the Great Depression. With the Airstream, which was sold alongside the Airflow, Chrysler finally fulfilled the wishes of the interested parties and hoped, by the way make as many Airflow, that its development would have paid off.

In the first year of production 5 times more Airstream were sold as Airflow, in the second year there were almost 9 times as many.

End of the model year 1936, the Chrysler Airstream models own production as well as the one of DeSoto.
