Chrysolaminarin ( Leucosin ) is a cultivation of algae from the group of Stramenopiles such as diatoms and in the calcareous algae ( Haptophyta ) occurring reserve material which is used as an energy reserve. Chrysolaminarin consists of a chain-like, unbranched linked glucose molecules, so it is a carbohydrate (polysaccharide ). While when the thickness of the green plants and red algae glucose α1 → 4 - and 6 -glycosidically linked α1 →, there is Chrysolaminarin of β1 → 3 - and β1 → 6 -glycosidic connected D-glucose at a ratio of 11:1.
