Chuck Connors

Chuck Connors (actually Kevin Joseph Aloysius Connors, born April 10, 1921 in Brooklyn, New York, † November 10, 1992 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American actor, baseball and basketball players.

Biography

Connors was the son of Irish-American parents. He finished his studies at Seton Hall College to enter the U.S. Army. After the end of World War 2 Connors a basketball career began at first with the Boston Celtics, then switch to the use baseball.

Because he had to feed his four children, a large family, he hired himself out in the late 1940s in a unterklassigen League in Los Angeles after guest performances at the Brooklyn Dodgers and the Chicago Cubs were left short interludes. During this time he was discovered by talent scouts, after which he received a first small supporting role in Pat and Mike (1952 ) as Sheriff.

Connors developed a talent for acting and has been mostly used due to its size and stature in Western and crime films. He became famous for his starring role in the west of Santa Fé ( Original: The Rifleman, 1958-1963 ), one of the most well-known Western series on television.

After the failure of his first marriage, he married fellow actress Kamala Devi in 1963. The couple appeared together in two relatively short-lived series. In 1972, the marriage ended in divorce. Connor's third and last marriage lasted only a year in 1977.

Until his retirement from the movie business because of his lung cancer Connors appeared regularly in films and television guest roles.
