Chum Phae District

Chum Phae ( Thai: อำเภอ ชุมแพ, different spelling: Chum Pae, Choompae ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Khon Kaen. The Khon Kaen Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, Isan.

Geography

Neighbouring districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Phu Kradueng Loei province, the Amphoe Si Chompoo, Wiang Kao, Phu Wiang Nong Ruea the province of Khon Kaen, Amphoe Ban the Thaen, Phu khiao and Khon San of Chaiyaphum Province, and ultimately Amphoe Phu Pha Man ​​of Khon Kaen again.

History

The area of present-day county Chum Phae was already inhabited in prehistoric times. The ruins of the city of Non Mueang date back to the Dvaravati period.

The establishment of the district was published in the Royal Gazette of 3 August 1943. It originally consisted of the Tambon Chum Phae, Si Suk, Han and non Khua Riang.

Management

The Chum Phae district is divided into 12 subdistricts (tambon ), which in turn are divided into 132 villages ( Muban ).

Chum Phae itself ( Thai: เทศบาล เมือง ชุมแพ ) has a town status ( thesaban Mueang ) and consists of parts of tambon Chum Phae, Nong Pai Chai and Sun

There are also two small towns ( Tambon thesaban ):

  • Non Han ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โนน หัน ) consists of parts of tambon Non Han and Non Sa -at
  • Khok Sung Sam Phanat ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โคก สูง สัมพันธ์ ) consists of parts of tambon Non Udom and Khua Riang.

There are also 12 Tambon Administration Organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ) in the district.
