Chum Phuang District

Chum Phuang ( Thai: อำเภอ ชุมพวง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the eastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima. The Nakhon Ratchasima province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

Chum Phuang borders the following counties (from the south clockwise) Huai Thalaeng, Phimai, Prathai, Mueang Yang and Lam Thamenchai in the province of Nakhon Ratchasima, Amphoe Lam Plai Mat, as well as the province of Buriram.

History

Chum Phuang 1956 initially set up as a small district ( King Amphoe ) by its territory was separated from Amphoe Phimai. In 1959 he was promoted to Amphoe.

Management

Chum Phuang is divided into nine subdistricts ( tambon), which in turn together hold 130 municipalities ( Muban ).

There is a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Chum Phuang ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ชุมพวง ), consisting of parts of the tambon Chum Phuang.

There are also nine administrative organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ).

Note: The missing numbers refer to the tambon which now belong to Mueang Yang and Lam Thamenchai.
