Chung Il-kwon

Chung Il- kwon ( born November 21, 1917 in Kankyo - hokudō, at that time the Japanese Empire, present-day North Korea, † January 17, 1994 in Seoul, South Korea) was a South Korean general during the Korean War.

Chung Il- kwon led the South Korean troops for most of the war, during the important UN invasion of Inchon in 1950. Later he became Prime Minister of South Korea and South Korean twice ambassador to the United States. He was also known for his involvement in the Korea - gate scandal.

December 17, 1963 to July 24, 1964 and again on 17 December 1966 to 29 June 1967, he held the post of foreign minister.
