Chungcheong

Chungcheong-do was one of eight provinces of Korea during the Joseon Dynasty. It was founded in 1413 and divided in 1896 into the present Chungcheongbuk-do and Chungcheongnam -do. In the north of the province at the Gyeonggi Province bordered to the east of Gangwon-do and Gyeongsang -do, on the south by the province of Jeolla -do and to the west by the Yellow Sea. The capital was Gongju.
