Chupalla

The Chupalla [ tʃupaʎa ] is a straw hat, which is traditionally worn by Chilean herdsman, the Huasos.

The name is derived from achupalla, a Chilean dialect word for the bromeliad, from whose fibers the hats were originally made. Today, the production of wheat or rice straw prevails.
