Church of Ceylon

The Church of Ceylon is a member church of the Anglican Communion, and was until 1970 the Church of Pakistan. It is limited today to the area of Sri Lanka. Her two dioceses (Colombo and Kurunagala ) are subject extraprovinziell the Archbishop of Canterbury as Primate.

The area of the Church of Ceylon is one of the oldest mission areas of the Anglican Church. 1796 there was first evangelized. The Diocese of Jaffna in northern Sri Lanka belongs to the Church of South India.
