Churro

A Churro (pronounced [' tʃuro ], usually in the plural, churros, used ) is a Spanish fried pastry, a kind of elongated donut with a star-shaped cross-section. They are made with choux pastry that is fried in hot oil and then sprinkled with sugar. They are also in Portugal and in several Latin American countries, in the south (west ) s of the United States, Morocco, France (as Chichi or Chouchous ) and known in Turkey.

Normally you buy churros at the Churro stand ( Churrería ), which is often located on main streets, squares and markets. In Spain, they usually eat at any time of day, but particularly sought after are the churros dipped in hot chocolate syrup, early in the morning or at night on the way home after a party. In addition, you can eat them sprinkled with vanilla sugar or cinnamon. Traditional Churros are particularly fond eaten on New Year's morning after the New Year's Eve party.

Also in Germany there are now increasingly to buy churros, for example, at public festivals such as the Hamburger Dom.
