Cicerone

Cicerone is an old term used to define a guide: a person that tourists and visitors to museums, attractions, runs, etc. and explained archaeological, historical and artistic backgrounds.

It is believed that the concept of Marcus Tullius Cicero comes, which is famous because of his eloquence and his teaching methods.

Despite the Italian origin of the term, The New English Dictionary has examples of its use in English before its use in Italian: namely, in the Dialogue on Medals by Joseph Addison, who was probably published in 1726.

Initially, the word for antique collectors was used, the stranger the antiques and curiosities of their country declared ( New English Dictionary, 1762).
