The Patinoire de Malley ( Malley ice stadium German, officially Centre Intercommunal de Glace de Malley, CIG de Malley short or cIgM ) is an ice stadium in Lausanne district Sébeillon / Malley in Switzerland. It is the home stadium of Lausanne HC from the National League A.

History and use

The arena opened in 1984 and has an official capacity of 9,500 spectators, who, however, can be extended at the hockey games on up to 10,300 seats. 1992 and 2002 were the European Figure Skating Championships held in the hall. For other events, the stadium up to 12,000 visitors. On April 2, 1987, the final of the Basketball European Cup took place in Patinoire, also the Gymnastics European Championships in 1990 and 2008 and the World Gymnastics Championships were held in 1997 in the hall.

Guest sector

The guests of the sector Patinoire de Malley was repeatedly criticized because it is more like a " prison " because a spectator same rank. The stadium is thus referred to in the press as a Swiss Guantanamo.
