Cincinnati Cyclones

The Cincinnati Cyclones (also Puckopolis ) are an American ice hockey franchise in the ECHL from Cincinnati, Ohio. The venue for the Cyclones is the U.S. Bank Arena.

History

The Cincinnati Cyclones were founded in 1990 as a franchise of the East Coast Hockey League. Two years later its then owner Doug Church Offer received the rights for a franchise in the International Hockey League, after which he relocated the IHL license for the Cyclones used and the ECHL license to Birmingham, Alabama, where this 1992-2001 Birmingham Bulls competed. After the Cincinnati Cyclones had still missed the playoffs for the Turner Cup in the 1992/93 season, they reached this until resolution of the IHL in 2001 in each year, but never progressed beyond the third round.

The team then moved from Ohio to the East Coast Hockey League, where it was three years active before it for financial reasons stopped the game operation in 2004. After 2006 failed the establishment of an AHL franchises in Cincinnati, the Cyclones play activities in the ECHL resumed and won in the 2007/ 08 season for the first time Kelly Cup. In the final, they sat down in the best- of-seven series 4-2 against the Las Vegas Wranglers through.

In August 2010, Jarrod skald was introduced as the head coach of the Cincinnati Cyclones, Scott Fankhouser took over the position of assistant coach.
