Cinnamomum is a about 300 to 350 species comprehensive genus of flowering plants of the laurel family ( Lauraceae ). The original areas in the tropical and subtropical Asia and Australia. Many species, such as the Ceylon cinnamon and camphor, have a high economic value.
Description
All species are evergreen shrubs: Trees or shrubs. The bark and the leaves often smell aromatic. The simple leaves are entire.
The hermaphrodite flowers contain (six to ) nine bloom, (six to ) nine stamens and an ovary. There shall be bluish, almost black, almost spherical drupes.
