HIV / AIDS drugs

Internationally known Cipla was the production of low-cost AIDS drugs whose good pharmaceutical quality is partially tested and confirmed by the WHO. HIV / AIDS is treated with a combination therapy of at least three different antiretroviral drugs treatment (highly active antiretroviral therapy, HAART). Cipla manufactures ( as well as other generic manufacturers ) more so-called Fixed -dose combinations, which in a single tablet combinations of two or three antiretroviral agents (eg, lamivudine, stavudine and nevirapine; lamivudine and stavudine, lamivudine, zidovudine and nevirapine ) included and for the highly active antiretroviral therapy are used. Such combination products are not available from the original manufacturers because the active ingredients are sold by different companies.

With the AIDS drugs from Cipla the cost of a standard combination for AIDS treatment could be reduced to about $ 100 a year.
