Ciprian Marica ( 2011)

Ciprian Andrei Marica [' tʃiprian an'drɛ ʲ ' marika ] (born 2 October 1985 in Bucharest ) is a Romanian football player.

Clubs

Marica started his career at Dinamo Bucharest. At the age of 18 he joined the Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk, for whom he also played in the Champions League.

In July 2007, he joined the then German champions VfB Stuttgart. The contract had a term of five years. He had on 10 August 2007, he scored against FC Schalke 04, his first goal in the 1st Bundesliga on 24 November 2007 away game against Eintracht Frankfurt His Bundesliga debut. On 27 November 2007 against the Rangers he scored his first Champions League goal for VfB Stuttgart. In February 2011, he was singled out by coach Bruno Labbadia despite contract until 2012 and came in the second half of 2010/11 is no longer used. During the summer break in 2011 Marica moved to FC Schalke 04, in which he signed a two-year contract with an option for another year. On September 27, 2013 Marica signed a one-year contract with FC Getafe.

National

Marica had his first race for the Romanian national football team at the age of 18 years on November 16, 2003 against Italy. End of May 2011 he was appointed national team coach Razvan Lucescu as the successor of Cristian Chivu to the team captain. Lucescu's successor Victor Piţurcă then decided, however, for Razvan Rat as captain.
