Circaeasteraceae

The Circaeasteraceae are a family of plants that belongs to the flowering plant ( Magnoliopsida ). It contains two monotypic genera, ie only two ways. It has areas in the western and southwestern China, Japan, and northern India.

Description

They are small, one-year at Circa Easter agrestis and persevering in Kingdonia uniflora, herbaceous plants. The leaves have largely a dichotomous veining.

They have small flowers. There are two or three or five (rarely up to seven ) bloom, (one or ) two to six ( or eight ) stamens, three to nine free, upper permanent carpels present. Are formed achenes.

Systematics and distribution

The family name Circaeasteraceae in 1926 erected by John Hutchinson in The Families of Flowering Plants, Volume 1, p 98. Sometimes you can find an author specified Kuntze ex Hutch. , But this is not valid.

In the family of Circaeasteraceae there are only two monotypic genus, so only two types:

  • Around Easter Maxim. Offering the only way (or two types ): Around Easter agrestis Maxim. It is in Bhutan, in northeastern India, Nepal, Sikkim and in the Chinese provinces: southern Gansu, Eastern and Southern Qinghai, southern Shaanxi, western Sichuan, northwestern Xinjiang, Eastern and Southern Xizang, northwestern Yunnan boasts.
  • Kingdonia uniflora I.B.Balf. & WWSm. Thrives in forests at altitudes 2700-3900 meters in the Chinese provinces: southern Gansu, southern Shaanxi ( Taibai Shan), western Sichuan, northwestern Yunnan ( Dêqên Xian).
