Circle Records

Circle Records is an American record label.

The American label Circe Records was founded in 1946 by Rudi Blesh and Harriet Janis. It existed until 1952 and was then taken over by Jazzology Records as a sub-label; there big band music will be released from the swing era.

The independent German label with the same name was founded in 1978 by Rudolf circle in Cologne and published a series of music predominantly U.S. artists that are attributable to the Creative Jazz. First album was recorded in 1976 " Essence " of the Sam Rivers Trio with Joe Daley and Warren Smith; it was followed by albums by Burton Greene, James Newton, Gil Evans ( Little Wing ), Lee Konitz / Karl Berger, Phillip Wilson, David Murray and his ensemble "Low Class Conspiracy " with Butch Morris, and several recorded in Europe concert recordings by Chet Baker, Archie Shepp and Herb Geller. In the late 1980s put the label on its production activities.
