Circuit de la Sarthe (cycling)
The Circuit Cycliste Sarthe is a stage race in the department of Sarthe, which started in 1953 by the journalist Fernand Bocage of the newspaper Le Maine Libre to life. Since 1975, professional teams to take part. The race usually goes through four stages and is part of the UCI category 2.1 at. It is traditionally held in April. Have won the race including the famous rider Greg LeMond (1980) and Bernard Hinault (1975 and 1976). Also German racing driver have played a role in this race: 2005, Jan Ullrich prepared here on the Tour de France. 2006 Stefan Schumacher won, and the Gerolsteiner sprinter Robert Förster won the first stage in a bunch sprint. 2007 Andreas Klöden eventually won the tour and Robert Förster won twice the second rank of a stage.
