Circuito de Getxo

The Circuito de Getxo bicycle race (also: Memorial Ricardo Otxoa ) is a Spanish -day race that takes place annually in July. The start and finish are the town of Getxo, in the Basque Country. The first edition was held in 1924. Since the death of the Basque cycling athlete Ricardo Otxoa, which was recognized in 2001 along with his twin brother Javier Otxoa during training by a motorist, the race also named Memorial Ricardo Otxoa. The race is part of the UCI Europe Tour and classified in the category 1.1 since its introduction in 2005.
