Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington ( CREW ) (English for: Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington) is an American organization based in Washington, DC, whose stated aim is to fight against corruption in parliament and government circles in the USA. CREW calls himself a "progressive" and works with other, more left-wing -leaning non-profit organizations.

CREW Executive Director Melanie Sloan was the earlier consultant two democratic deputy ( John Conyers and Senator Charles Schumer ), founded in 2001.

Often CREW is called the Democrats a related counterpart to Judicial Watch, which is a Republican- affiliated organization. She was instrumental in the impeachment proceedings against President Bill Clinton. There are - according to the conservative Washington Times - close financial and personal links between CREW and functionaries of the Democrats.

The most well- known project of CREW is the "List of 15 most corrupt politicians in Washington ":

House of Representatives

Senate

Naturally, this classification is highly controversial. The fact that over the past significantly less democratic than republican politicians were on this list, was ranked by conservative critics as a ploy. In the current list, however, more Democrats than Republicans are represented.
