Albury City is located in the south of the state on the Murray River on the border of the State of Victoria and west of Lake Hume about 550 km from Sydney and 300 kilometers from Melbourne on the direct connection between the two cities, the Hume Highway. The area includes 20 districts and towns: Albury, Corrys Wood, East Albury, Ettamogah, Glenroy, Hamilton Valley, Hume Weir, Lake Hume Village, Lavington, Mungabareena, North Albury, South Albury, Splitters Creek, Springdale Heights, St Hilaire, Thurgoona, West Albury, Wirlinga and parts of Jindera and Table Top. The seat of the City Council is located in the town of Albury in the south of the LGA, which has about 42,000 inhabitants.

Largest suburbs of Albury Lavington are where there is a larger shopping center, and Thurgoona, home to one of the campus of Charles Sturt University in the region.

Management
