City of Cessnock

Cessnock is located in the eastern part of the state in the Hunter region, approximately 150 km north of the city of Sydney. The area includes 83 districts and towns, including but Main, Bellbird, Cessnock, Ella Long, Kearsley, Kitchener, Kurri Kurri, Millfield, Mulbring, Pelaw Main, Weston, Wollombi and parts of Branxton and Greta. The seat of the City Council is located in Cessnock in the northeast half of the LGA where about 18,000 inhabitants.

Management

The Cessnock City Council has 13 members, who are elected by the residents of the LGA. The three members are from the four Wards A, B, C and D, the chairman and Mayor ( Mayor ) is also elected by all residents of the LGA. The four electoral districts are defined independently of the city.
