Lake Macquarie is located in the southern Hunter region on the Pacific coast about 150 km northeast of the city of Sydney. The area covers 115 districts and towns, including Awaba, Belmont, Cardiff, Charlestown, Cooranbong, Dora Creek, Glendale, Killingworth, Martinsville, Morisset, Mount Hutton, Speers Point, Swansea, Toronto, Warners Bay and a part of Wyee. The seat of the City Council is in Speers Point at the northern end of Lake Macquarie.

Management

The Lake Macquarie City Council has 13 members, who are elected by the residents of the LGA. The four members from the three Wards North, East and West, the chairman and Mayor ( Mayor ) is also elected by all residents of the LGA. The three electoral districts are defined independently of the villages.
