Civil liberties
Freedom rights are in addition to equality and fair trial rights and social rights a category of fundamental rights. The liberties to protect essentially life, liberty and property from government interference.
Germany
Important freedom rights under the German Basic Law are:
- General freedom of action, Article 2, Paragraph 1 of the Basic Law.
- Right to life, right to liberty and right to physical integrity (all Article 2 of the Basic Law ),
- Freedom of conscience, Article 4, Section 1 of the Basic Law.
- Freedom of religion, Article 4, paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Basic Law.
- Freedom of expression, Article 5, Section 1 of the Basic Law.
- Freedom of association, Article 8, Section 1 of the Basic Law.
- Freedom of Association, Article 9 paragraph 1 of the Basic Law.
- Freedom of association, Article 9 paragraph 3 GG.
- Freedom of movement, Article 11, paragraph 1 of the Basic Law.
- Professional freedom, Article 12 paragraph 1 GG.
